PITCH is Collision’s startup competition, highlighting the world’s most promising startups in a pitching battle. For Collision, that battle has moved online.
The top 50 startups will be shortlisted for the group rounds of the competition. Our esteemed panel of judges will score each startup based on their 2-minute application video. The highest scoring nine startups will progress to the streamed stages of the competition: the quarter-final, semi-final and final.
The top three from the semi-final will progress to the PITCH final and will fight it out for a chance to be crowned PITCH champion at Collision 2021
Partnering with PITCH will make you the event’s exclusive partner for the entirety of Collision 2021. The competition will be referred to as:
We will produce a dual-branded logo lock-up of the PITCH and your logo.
Example: PITCH powered by KPMG
As the exclusive PITCH partner for Collision, you will play a part in choosing who moves forward in the competition. You will have the following PITCH judging slots:
Your partner success manager will send you unique links to book these PITCH judge slots. PITCH judges should be senior executives with a keen interest in startups. We are committed to improving the gender ratio at our event and that applies to our PITCH judges. With that in mind, please let us know if you have anyone in mind.
The deadline to book your PITCH judge slots are as follows: March 8 (group stage positions), March 24 (quarter-final position), March 26 (semi-final position), and March 29 (final position).
*For the final, the PITCH judge must hold a global C-suite position.
Group rounds (pre-event):
In total, 50 startups will take part in the group rounds of the competition. The group rounds will take place offline in the weeks leading up to Collision.
Startups will be divided into groups of six, with the winner of each group progressing to the quarter-final. Each group is scored by a panel of four judges who are sent a startup pack containing six 2-minute pitch videos and the scoring categories.
Quarter-final (pre-recorded and streamed as-live during Collision)
Once the group rounds have ended, nine startups take part in the PITCH quarter-finals.
The quarter-final will be recorded before the event and streamed on the Centre channel at Collision.
The quarter-final will be divided into three parts, with three startups per part. One startup from each part will progress to the semi-final of PITCH.
Although the judges will score the nine startups based on their full 2-minute pitches, the audience will be shown just 30 seconds of each startup’s pitch.
Semi-final (pre-recorded and streamed as-live during Collision)
The semi-final will be recorded before the event and streamed on the Centre stage channel during Collision.
The semi-finalists will be joined by three pre-selected startups. Although the judges will score the six startups based on their full 2-minute pitches, the audience will be shown just one minute of each startup’s pitch.
The semi-final will feature each of the six startups, a minute of each of their pitch videos, and four judges in total.
The highest scoring three will battle it out in the PITCH final.
Final (pre-recorded and streamed as-live during Collision)
The PITCH final will also be recorded before the event, and streamed on our Centre stage channel at Collision. Our three finalists will deliver their full 2-minute pitches to our four judges.
There will be an opportunity for the judges to ask the finalists some questions, and their answers will be included in the streamed final.
The finalist with the highest combined score from the judges will be crowned the winner of PITCH at Collision.
